Basic/Detailed Naval Electric Design Engineer (Ref#058)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Elaborate the detailed engineering part of electrical engineering projects, in accordance with the technical specification, classification societies requirements, applicable standards and guidelines / internal manuals.
• Compliance with the deadlines stipulated in the design planning activities.
• Compliance processes, procedures and guidelines for integrated management system medium – SSM, specific to the held position.
• Responsible for implementation of processes / sub-processes where he holds responsibilities under the "Matrix of responsibilities in the processes (Process Responsibility Matrix)"
• Identification and communication in order to approve the design technical solutions, based on news / innovations available on marine market.

ACTIVITIES

• Receives the technical specifications and design activity planning from Lead Engineer / project manager.
• Is checking the availability of the latest version of the design necessary reference documents (rules of classification, standards and technical regulations) and requires to the Head of Engineering & Innovation
• Resources to complete technical database when appropriate.
• Analyzes together with the Lead Engineer the utilization of technical dates regarding the equipments transmitted by Purchasing Department;
• Analyzes together with the Lead Engineer the proposals of Purchasing department related to equipment manufacturers who are not in the database of the company.
• Elaborates the Detailed Engineering documents in accordance with the sub process ENG3, as:
  • Equipment necessary (part lists)
  • Lighting calculation
  • Signal lists in/out
  • Sensors list
  • Electrical sketch
  • Drawings of switchboards
  • Cables list
  • Connections diagram
  • Routing cables reports
  • Spare parts list
• Manuals / instructions for use of designed installations and installed equipments
• Test Protocols FAT / HAT / SAT
• Functional description of the equipments
• Prepares in E-PLAN the necessary materials / equipment (part lists) and lists of labels.
• Analyzes drawings and wiring diagrams together with the Lead Engineer / Project Manager and propose technical solutions, if it is the case.
• Forwards the projects to production departments, installation and automation, in the order to begin work.
• Provides technical assistance during the works and propose changes to the technical solutions, if the situation requires.
• Communicates to the automation engineer the changes from the schemes that involve software changes.
• Provides interface with the client and / or classification bodies regarding approval documentation of execution and / or bill of material.
• Provides the interface with the client regarding materials provided by it.
• Performs inspections of Basic Engineering documents throughout the project execution and in the warranty period (including versions of "as built")
• Participate in teams of developing the "Proof of concept" and "Set up test", when appropriate.
• Propose for approval to Lead Engineer/ Project Manager technical solutions based on news / innovations;

OTHER ACTIVITIES

• Provides technical support to reception committee from store (when necessary).
• Cooperates with WP from Engineering department to elaborate the packing lists for making deliveries to projects under their responsibility.
• Participates in calculating project budgets in the bidding phase.
• Participate in developing and updating the planning of basic / detailed engineering.
• Can be delegated by the Lead Engineer for interfacing with the client and / or classification bodies concerning the approval of documentation of execution and / or lists of materials and for interfacing with the client regarding the materials provided by it.
• Within the projects can act as a lead engineer, the responsibilities being described in the "Engineering" process, ENG code.
• Participates at manuals developing / procedures / work instructions in field.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Studies: Higher Education(electrical/electro-technical domain)
• Knowledge of English, advanced
• PC knowledge
• Knowledge of design using specific software (E-PLAN / AUTOCAD)
• Knowledge of electrical systems and their integration, the calculation of electrical components, electrical panels, electrical drives, automation elements, modern construction techniques of electrical installations
• Ability to extract execution drawings from assembly drawings and also realize details of drawings
• Knowledge CMPIC operating software (routing cables)
• Knowledge of ERP software operating
