Full Job Description

• Graduate with Honours Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline

• 1-5 years’ work experience in a technical role at a relevant company within the chemical or coatings industry.

• Can speak Vietnamese & Good English proficiency (Speaking), nice to have Mandarin.

• Advantage if have Oracle/SAP system knowledge.

• Basic knowledge of paint making, testing techniques and color theory.

• Comprehends paint manufacturing and production processes.

• Understanding of main formulating rules and principles.

• Is familiar with major raw material suppliers and their technologies.

• Working knowledge of all laboratory & EHS processes.

• Someone who is proactive, have learning capabilities with positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow direction and execute assigned experimentation with some involvement from supervisor, discusses work with supervisor daily.

• Logically organize a series of tasks to complete assigned experiment.

• Record experimental output in a condensed, tabulated or graphic form to concisely and effectively communicate results and trends.

• Draws conclusions from work and shows attention to detail. Detects anomalies in experimental parameters or results.

• With guidance from supervisor, provides technical support to other departments.

• Keep lab appropriately supplied, keeps basic equipment functioning and certifiably calibrated.

• Understand and consistently practices EHS processes relevant to the job in the working environment.

• Organize, accurately perform and draw conclusions from lab experiments following discussion with supervisors.

• Ensure all experimental work is fully recorded in appropriate lab notebooks, databases and where necessary, project reports.

• Work safely, following all lab procedures and contribute to the maintenance of high safety standards.

• Provide technical support (closely guided by supervisor) to other departments especially sales and production.

• Contribute ideas for lab work involving new product development, existing product improvement, formula cost reduction, processes and procedural improvement.
