BAT VIETNAM IS LOOKING FOR LEGAL COUNSEL, CORPORATE SERVICES

SENIORITY LEVEL: Management Level

FUNCTION:  Legal & External Affair (LEX)

SALARY RANGE: Competitive market salary + Bonus scheme + Excellent benefits

LOCATION: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

• Acting as commercial counsel to the Corporate Services function, providing legal opinions, advising legal/regulatory issues, preparing/finalizing legal documents for day-to-day works
• Structuring, negotiating, drafting, and advising on execution of Corporate Services transactions
• Providing guidance on application of Group policies, procedures and governance
• Participating actively in problem-solving and decision-making in all areas of the business
• In charge of compliance issues (standards of business conducts, contract management policy, etc.) for the Company
• Providing supports and/or back-up to other legal counsels in legal department where relevant
• Representing the Company in litigation in relation to corporate services (if any)
• Playing an active role within function to build and sustain an effective ‘One Team’ concept

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working for law firms/consulting companies or in similar roles within multinational corporations.
• Bachelors Degree in Law or any related field from a recognized law university
• Experience of working in Corporate Services/Compliance is a plus

Technical skills:

• In-depth understanding of the legal framework applicable to the tobacco industry
• Proficiency in commercial laws, including contract law, investment law, commercial laws, intellectual property law (trademark law), land law, banking law and labor law
• Familiarity with the taxation system & regulations of Vietnam
• A sound understanding of process of enactment of legislation
• Good understanding of commercial aspects
• Project management skill
• Good spoken and written English
