WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Manager of Chemical Engineering - based in Nike PMO / HCMC, Vietnam - to manage chemical works in product creations Centers & chemical manufacturing in T1&T2
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll be working with both company counterparts, external factory partners, and suppliers performing as project leader/manager. You will lead team to fulfil chemical components development & chemical program, to support the seasonal new creation, T1&T2 capabilities development.
A typical day/week looks like:
- Leads cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and improve existing development processes.
- Leads team in defining and documenting procedures for all aspects of development processes and equipment.
- Design tests to establish and/or improve developing components. Oversees the execution and documentation of trial runs.
- Leads team in design modification, specification, purchase, installation, and validation of equipment and tooling.
- Mentors junior level engineering employees
- Effectively communicate with Converse HQ / CTS functional teams / factory teams / suppliers
- To elevate the Converse DC chemical resource and help factory team’s chemical capabilities development.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As a Manager of chemical Engineering you will work directly with HQ creation team, CTS product creation teams ( developer/ TE/ PE), factory chemical team, and chemical suppliers, collaborate with chemical Manufacturing as well. You’ll also work with other functions in Asia such as Planning, Costing teams on chemical related communication and data supports. Another key connection is regularly meeting with HQ Chemical engineer and make sure of great alignment of all workstreams.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Polymer/chemistry bachelor degree + Minimum 10 years’ chemical engineering related experience
- Work experience in shoes industry is A plus; Master degree, or above is also A plus.
- Solid knowledge in rubber /EVA /Polyurethane, and strong skill of problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English.
- Certainly level of critical thinking
