Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly meticulous and experienced Senior Data Cleaning Specialist to join their global team in a fully remote capacity. This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of large datasets used for analytics and machine learning. You will be responsible for developing and implementing data cleaning strategies, identifying and rectifying data anomalies, and establishing data quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep understanding of data manipulation techniques. You will work with various data formats and databases, utilizing advanced tools to prepare data for consumption.

- Develop and execute comprehensive data cleaning processes to identify and correct errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in datasets.
- Implement data validation rules and techniques to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Analyze large datasets to detect patterns of errors, missing values, and duplicate entries.
- Perform data standardization and transformation to ensure consistency across different data sources.
- Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Python with Pandas, SQL) to automate data cleaning tasks.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to understand data requirements and resolve data quality issues.
- Document data cleaning procedures, methodologies, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of data governance policies and data quality frameworks.
- Proactively identify potential data quality risks and recommend solutions.
- Train and mentor junior data cleaning professionals on best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data cleaning, data validation, data quality management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Python (Pandas, NumPy), R, or SQL.
- Strong understanding of database structures and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with data visualization tools for identifying anomalies is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Prior experience in remote work environments is highly desirable.
