Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations to assess the performance and integrity of mechanical designs under various operating conditions.
- Develop and validate FEA models for stress, strain, thermal, vibration, fatigue, and fluid dynamics analyses.
- Select appropriate material models and boundary conditions to accurately represent real-world scenarios.
- Interpret complex simulation results, identify potential failure modes, and provide clear, concise recommendations for design improvement.
- Collaborate closely with design engineers, R&D teams, and product managers to influence product development from concept through production.
- Establish and maintain best practices for FEA modeling, meshing, solvers, and post-processing.
- Develop custom scripts and tools to automate FEA workflows and improve efficiency.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in FEA software, simulation techniques, and relevant engineering disciplines.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in FEA methodologies and best practices.
- Present technical findings and recommendations to project teams, management, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for simulation and analysis within the organization.
- Manage multiple complex FEA projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of results.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to FEA model setup, solution convergence, and results interpretation.
- Ensure that all analyses comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate actively in design reviews and provide expert analysis support.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field with a strong focus on computational mechanics.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Expert proficiency with major FEA software packages (e.g., ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus, COMSOL).
- In-depth knowledge of the theory of elasticity, plasticity, fatigue, fracture mechanics, and heat transfer.
- Strong understanding of material science and material behavior under various loading conditions.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, APDL) for automation and customization is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote environment.
- Fluency in English is required.
