Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Ha Noi, Vietnam for an Accounting Tax professional. The role involves day-to-day tasks such as tax planning, tax preparation, and ensuring compliance with tax laws. The individual will work closely with the finance team to manage tax-related tasks and provide financial insights related to tax planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Tax Planning and Tax Preparation skills

JOB PURPOSE

This position assists the Manager and/or Director in daily deliverables to provide excellent service to clients. They provide financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data; preparing reports, submitting the reports to the client and are able to coach junior staff in the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle full set of accounts and bank operations for clients. Assists to manage daily work with high complexity, including closing full set of books, SFC compliance documents, capital account, annual financial statements, profits tax returns with tax computations, trade and shipping services, and other tailor made management reports/ financial analysis;

• Maintains relationship with clients and internal/external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, IRD and other government departments on client company's affairs, accounts, bank accounts, tax filing, etc.;

• Query management with internal and external- 3rd party stakeholders;

• Assist Manager in preparing proposal for clients;

• Supervises Senior Accountants, Accountants and Junior Accountants, and reviews draft deliverables;

• Assists Manager/Director to oversee daily operations of the Accounting department and to implement internal control procedures;

• Assists Manager/Director to train & coach junior staff;

• Assists Manager/Director to follow up on Debtors list (client invoices);

• Prepares and checks various reports as requested by clients;

• Prepares and supervises accountant audits.

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• Degree Holder in Accountancy or business related disciplines;

• Professional qualification holder (CPA Certificate)

• Minimum 5 – 7 years relevant experience in CPA firms or multinational companies;

• Sound knowledge of international accounting and banking practices;

• Good command of written and spoken English.

• Pursuing or qualified in Local professional examinations.

Responsibilities

• Review all the accounting, tax and audit reports.
• Responsible for all actual reporting including IFRS / VAS / management reports.
• Responsible for accounting, tax and management reports for full of business units.
• Review the bank reconciliations, all debt reconciliations (including inter/intra-company), month-end general ledger reconciliations and any others.
• Managing journal entries and ensuring proper general ledger mapping in support of monthly closing.
• Analyzing and interpreting financial information, general ledger accounts provide assurance that information complies with regulatory standards.
• Propose measures, accounting transactions to ensure timely payment of payables and debt collection while complying with current regulations and company policies. Responsible for checking that costing and depreciation or amortization expenses are recorded in reasonable periods as well as other issues related to financial accounting.
• Enhance, develop and implement accounting policies.
• Review the tax journal entries, reconcile tax accounts in financial statements, and ensure data accuracy.
• Co-ordinate and ensure the companies/projects discharge its legal & taxation obligations pertaining to corporate income tax, VAT, excise taxes, local taxes, withholding taxes, PIT.
• Perform pre-tax audit assessment for companies/projects in Vietnam which are due for external tax audits.
• Provide advice on tax impact on the business transactions so as to comply with tax and also safeguard company's interest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Auditing/Finance or or relevant field, certificate of Chief Accountant is preferred.
• At least 5 years relevant working experience in similar position.
• Technically strong in Tax, accounting standards in both VAS and IFRS, business processes and support.
• Good sense in controlling and business acumen.
• Strong leadership skills with coaching ability and good team-building skills.
• Good spoken and written English skills.
• Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office especially expertise in Excel and accounting systems/software.
